I'm a believer in spiritual growth! One of my primary focuses for growth is seeking wisdom. I added as a spiritual practice reading, studying, teaching, and ministering to others from the Book of Proverbs.
Wisdom is more than knowledge; it is the ability to apply understanding to lead a fulfilled and purposeful life. In my recent video presentation, I explored the depths of wisdom from a biblical perspective and its relevance to our daily lives. This blog post will highlight key insights from that discussion and explain how you can walk in wisdom every day.
What is Wisdom?
The Bible teaches us that wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10). This isn't a fear that drives us away but one that draws us closer in reverence, awe, and obedience. True wisdom is rooted in God's Word and is demonstrated through righteous living.
Why We Need Wisdom
Decision-Making – Wisdom helps us make choices that align with God’s will, leading to a life of peace and purpose.
Avoiding Foolishness – The book of Proverbs is filled with contrasts between the wise and the foolish. Wisdom helps us discern right from wrong.
Building Strong Relationships—Wisdom teaches us how to interact with others in love and humility, whether in our families, friendships, or workplaces.
How to Gain Wisdom
Seek God – James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously.
Study the Word – The Bible is a treasure trove of wisdom. Reading Proverbs daily is a great way to start.
Learn from Others – God places wise mentors and teachers in our lives to guide us. Surround yourself with people who walk in wisdom.
Practice Discernment – Every decision presents an opportunity to exercise wisdom. Pause, pray, and seek God’s direction before acting.
Living in Divine Wisdom
Wisdom isn’t just about knowing what’s right—it’s about living it out daily. When we walk in wisdom, we experience peace, divine direction, and spiritual growth.
